Cravin Crispy — a Forfar takeaway that stopped paying Just Eat commission
Visit websiteCravin Crispy were paying 20–30% commission on every order through Just Eat and Food Hub. On a busy weekend that was hundreds of pounds a week — money leaving the till and never coming back. They were also invisible on Google — search "chicken takeaway Forfar" and Cravin Crispy was on page two. Customers who wanted them by name were being handed to competitors by the search results. The admin flow was noisy. Orders came through three different apps, printed on three different tickets, and staff were juggling tablets on a Friday night.
We built Cravin Crispy their own ordering website. Clean menu on the phone. Card payments straight into their account. One order printer for the kitchen. One admin dashboard for the counter. We set up postcode-based delivery zones so drivers weren't chasing addresses they couldn't reach in time. Menu, prices, opening hours — all editable from a phone by the owner, no support ticket needed. We rewrote the Google Business profile, added local schema, and set up basic tracking. Within a few weeks they were showing on the first page for local searches.
- Now taking 200+ direct orders per week through their own site - Cut Just Eat commission spend significantly (aggregator orders are still coming in but the direct site is the primary channel) - Launched in 3 weeks from first call to going live - Showing on the first page of Google for local takeaway searches in Forfar
